The Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth, Texas has been called "America's best small museum". Since its opening in 1972, the museum has won acclaim for its classic modern building designed by American architect Louis I. Kahn (1901-1974) and for a renowned collection of masterpieces ranging from ancient to modern times.
