邁剋爾·羅伯森，1960年生於澳大利亞新南威爾士州，1979年進入悉尼《太陽報》成為一名記者。在新聞業沉浮14年後，改行做匿名寫手，先後替15位藝術、政治、軍事和體育名人執筆自傳，其中有12本登上暢銷榜。曆經十年為人作嫁，開始用本名寫小說。
首部心理驚悚小說《嫌疑人》於2004年齣版，獲知名圖書俱樂部推薦，一炮而紅，開創瞭“奧洛剋林醫生係列”，同屬這個係列的《碎裂》2008年獲澳大利亞奈德·凱利奬ZUI佳小說，入圍英國犯罪作傢協會“鋼匕首奬”、ITV3 犯罪驚悚小說奬。這個係列的作品在德國陸續被改編為電影，備受好評。2015年齣版的《越獄者》擊敗包括斯蒂芬·金在內的諸多熱門人選獲得英國犯罪作傢協會“金匕首奬”，入圍美國推理作傢協會“愛倫·坡奬”短名單。《她和她的秘密》獲澳大利亞書業協會2018年“大眾小說奬”。

Stephen King said it’s the most suspenseful book he read all year. I think he is been sarcastic. This is nothing as compared to Mr Mercedes, that is REAL suspense. The only surprise is the armature and unprofessional mistakes (mind the plural)made by DI.
