评分短小扼要，梳理德國人（特彆是藝術史研究界）怎樣對待他們的藝術傳統的史論書，（想圍觀藝術傢、藝術品介紹評價的觀眾可以散瞭）。可以參讀史斐臘的《德意誌文學簡史》，史斐臘在書中也提到瞭此書。如果將來有人從德文版把這本書譯成中文的話，建議譯一下英文版導論。
