This second volume of a two-volume social history of Hankow focuses on the people of Hankow, in all their ethnic diversity, occupational variety, constant mobility, and social bonds.
著者簡介
羅威廉（William T.Rowe），美國約翰霍普金斯大學曆史係教授，東亞研究中心主任，當代美國最有影響的漢學傢之一。主要研究方嚮為東亞史、城市社會史。 羅威廉1967年獲得美國維思裏安大學(Wesleyan University)英文文學學士學位，1980年獲得美國哥倫比亞大學博士學位。1982年以來一直執教於美國約翰·霍普金斯大學曆史係，現任John & Diane Cooke中國史講座教授、曆史係主任。同時他也是美國《晚期中華帝國》(Late Imperial China)雜誌主編、美國《近代中國》(Modern China)和《城市史雜誌》(Journal of Urban History)編委。
