著者简介

罗伯特·Ｋ.默顿(1910—2003)美国著名社会学家、科学社会学奠基人、结构功能主义流派代表人物之一,出生于费城,1931年获坦普尔大学学士学位,随后进入哈佛大学,师从社会学名家索罗金、帕森斯及科学史家萨顿,1936年获得社会学博士学位,先后在哈佛大学、图兰大学和哥伦比亚大学任教,曾任美国社会学学会主席(1956—1957),并当选美国科学院院士,代表著作有《十七世纪英国的科学、技术与社会》(1938/1970)、《大众信念》(1946)、《社会理论和社会结构》(1949/1968)、《在巨人的肩膀上》(1965)、《论理论社会学》(1967)、《科学社会学》(1973)、《社会学的矛盾选择及其他文集》(1976)、《科学社会学散忆》(1979)、《社会研究与从事专门职业》(1982)等。
