具體描述
《英美報刊選讀》有以下兩個方麵的特點：一是選材豐富多彩，具有時代性，信息量豐富；二是從英語新聞學的角度介紹瞭閱讀英語報刊的一些基本知識，而不是簡單談論閱讀理解的方法。《英美報刊選讀》共選瞭54篇新聞，按內容分成18個單元。每篇新聞的長度在700～900個詞之間，全書共有生詞2000左右。每篇新聞後麵都附有兩大類內容。第一類幫助學生理解文章，如生詞、重要的專有名詞、內容要點和句子翻譯，用中文寫齣。第二類屬於“考”學生，也就是“練習”，包括閱讀理解、詞匯訓練及一道討論和寫作題。不論采用哪種形式，練習都緊扣文章。最後，每單元還附有一幅生動的漫畫或新聞照片，可讓學生在輕鬆的氣氛中獲得信息，理解文章，並得到提高。此外，還有報刊英語常識介紹。
