男主在阿拉斯加的沙漠中被发现，在切除了脑部肿瘤之后，只残留儿时记忆的他被老婆领回家了。头一百页作者带给我们的是一个失忆者的日常生活，老婆不认识了，同事不认识了，亲友也不认识了，甚至那只叫Frank的狗。然而就在带给读者美好感觉的时候，初出茅庐的作者把我们带进了一个脑科学研究的实验环节里，一下子阅读的快感就没有了，烦躁地和男主渡过又一百页以后，阿弥陀佛，终于文字又回到正轨，按我的想法，中间接受科学实验这段可以直接删了，好好的一窝汤就因为这段被玷污了。只有回归幼时的故里，才能回忆起过去的一切，而最终男主还是孑然一身。 A man with a past like any other.
