作者简介
Jerry A. Coyne has been a professor at the University of Chicago in the department of ecology and evolution for twenty years. He specializes in evolutionary genetics and works predominantly on the origin of new species. He is a regular contributor to The New Republic, the Times Literary Supplement, and other publications.

评分书名不是很达意，与物种起源相比，没那么晦涩难懂。我是躺在被窝里一口气看完的，挺精彩，配着《达尔文的证据》看，感觉还不错。能够起到增长知识，开阔眼界的作用。当作《物种起源》的导读也是不错的。参考资料很全。我是把他当故事书看的。

评分不了解译本(但名字我认为就翻译得不妥)，看的原著，觉得写得非常系统，语言也很好懂，不需要太高英语阅读水平。非常不错的科普读物，深入浅出，里面关于进化论的切入点与很多这类型的书籍不太一样，令人眼前一亮。看完以后让我更加觉得生命如同史诗一样壮丽。五星好评。然后就是想说，这是大众读物呀，不是学术著作。
评分好书推荐。很多时候我们只知道去支持或者去反对，却并不知道为什么支持为什么反对，不去理解事物的本身是如何，为什么正确为什么错误，以及何处有局限何处又很合理。
