Hans Kelsen and Carl Schmitt these two pre-eminent legal theorists were juxtaposed at an international conference at Tel Aviv University, in a comprehensive examination of their legal concepts and their impact. For the first time, the opposing currents in German legal tradition that Schmitt and Kelsen founded were debated against the backdrop of Israeli legal discourse.
