Abetted in her newfound obsession by Norman, a young man from the royal kitchens, the Queen comes to question the prescribed order of the world and loses patience with the routines of her role as monarch. Her new passion for reading initially alarms the palace staff and soon leads to surprising and very funny consequences for the country at large.

艾伦•贝内特
1934年生，英国当代最重要的剧作家，兼具小说家、演员多重身份，曾两度拒绝英国女王授勋，六十年代以电视系列片《艺穗节之外》成名，主要剧作包括《往事四十年》、《乔治三世的疯狂》等。2006年剧作《历史男孩》获得托尼奖最佳剧本奖。而他的两本自传作品和小说《非普通读者》也是广受好评的文学畅销书。

评分听过。BBC4 extra，原作者老爷爷亲自读的。关于女王爱上读书让属下倍感压力的故事。Her Majesty和PM的互动，把Cameron委屈的娃娃脸脑补进画面更加萌了><
评分很好读的书，虽然是虚构的故事却也让我读的津津有味。120页很快就看完了，仍然觉得不过瘾。可能是自己爱读书，找到了共鸣。
评分女王陛下真的是一个好读者，“books are a commonwealth, letters a republic”，you know the author only by reading them. “reading is not doing”，see, my problem is the Queen’s problem, too.
