著者簡介
保羅•奧斯特（Paul Auster，1947—），生於新澤西州的紐渥剋市。在哥倫比亞大學念英文暨比較文學係，並獲同校碩士學位。
奧斯特於1990年獲美國文學與藝術學院所頒發“莫頓‧道文‧薩伯奬”，1991年以《機緣樂章》獲國際筆會福剋納文學奬提名，1993年以《巨獸》獲法國麥迪西文學大奬，2006年10月獲頒阿斯圖裏亞斯王子文學奬。作品除瞭小說《月宮》、《紐約三部麯》、《幻影書》、《神諭之夜》、《密室中的旅行》等，還包括迴憶錄《孤獨及其所創造的》、評論集《飢渴的藝術》及詩集《煙滅》。作品已被譯成三十多國語文。
在文學創作之外，奧斯特也熱衷於電影劇本寫作並層獨立執導電影。目前與妻兒定居於紐約布魯剋林區。

The Tristram-Shandy-like narration is in itself very compelling, but the protagonists are too flat and lack sophistication, anyway I like his prose style of writing which contributes to form a powerful narrative.
