Boxleitner's voice is a weathered rasp and hampers his female characters， but he does manage to capture a mean Cajun drawl. More troublesome is that Shoemaker's story occasionally shifts its point of view， making the plot confusing to follow. Rewinding to clear up these questions is a real bother in the audio format.
