The Ladies' Paradise (Au Bonheur des Dames) recounts the spectacular development of the modern department store in late nineteenth century Paris. 小时候阅读，绝对是一气呵成，具体内容已经记不太清，依稀记得当初对这个作家的感想是——“一个狠角色”，对这本书的印象是“一气呵成的犀利之作”。 好看，近期打算再看一遍。
评分这本书其实是经营妇女消费品从简单实用到豪华糜菲发展的一个缩影，从小店面普通商人的生活一直描写到大百货公司老板的发家史。客观上真实描写了人类爱、恨、贪婪的欲望。窃以为BOSS每天关门结业时在办公室里数钱的形象最为活生生。
评分几乎可以说，妇女乐园是现今超市的一个雏形，里面所描写的商业理念、技巧等，仍可应用于今日。 有两部书是我非常喜欢以致于使我对超市行业非常向往的（可惜未能有机会从事这个行业），一部就是这个，另一部是《一个非凡的女人埃玛》（此书在这里找不到）。
