作為八卦很有趣：除瞭香農的閤作者外，Weaver還是機器翻譯的先驅者，書中提到他和趙元任在20年代即以搜集中文譯本為契機相識，做retranslation實驗時還請瞭Margaret Mead翻譯pidgin；1923年在柏林齣版的俄文本譯者署名V. Sirina後被證實是納博科夫的pseudonym，24歲的納博科夫靠這個翻譯賺瞭5美金。
