like his Stickes, David Small's presentation is full of power. the sadness, pressure and anguish are everywhere from the fist page. It's not all darkness though, as always in his book, there are lights from home in front.

補評，1950s的墮落青春與自我放逐。讓人透不過氣的逼仄小鎮，日夜酗酒從不歸傢的父親，殺死動物的變態，以及無處不在的種族歧視⋯少年Russell逃避現實後的放縱讓自己墮入瞭更深的深淵，悲涼中又映襯著殘酷的現實。作者的分鏡很有張力，雖然閱讀起來各種精神不適，不過依舊是非常有感染力的一部作品。
