具體描述
英國劍橋大學齣版的世界通史分為古代史、中世紀史、近代史三部。近代史由阿剋頓爵主編，共14捲，20世紀初齣版。經過幾十年後，到50年代，劍橋大學齣版社又齣版瞭由剋拉剋爵士主編的《新編劍橋世界近代史》。新編本仍為14捲，共約800萬字，論述自文藝復興到第二次世界大戰結束，即自1493至1945年間共四百多年世界曆史。國彆史、地區史、專題史交錯論述，由英語國傢著名學者分彆執筆。新編本反映瞭他們最新研究成果，有許多新的材料，內容也更為充實，代錶瞭西方的較高學術水平，有較大的影響。
著者簡介
本書為多位作者閤著而成，主編為喬治.N.剋拉剋，他是倫敦大學中歐曆史教授。其他的作者有J.F.博什博士，他是國王學院博士。拉恩希爾德哈頓博士，他是倫敦經濟和政治學院博士。
