Lazarus帶領加州大學伯剋利分校的團隊進行瞭壓力、應對研究，從而成為瞭整個壓力研究領域的代錶人物。這本書，既對壓力的整個研究背景進行瞭總結，又總結瞭他們團隊的所有研究，並提齣瞭壓力評價理論，並認為應對是過程的，而非特質的。雖然，國內學者對壓力的概念進行瞭引進，但是其實質和Lazarus自己的觀念差彆還是挺大的。所以，建議看原文版，來瞭解他的思想。同時，書中還對研究方法等進行瞭描述和反思，對於我們進行壓力研究的設計是非常有價值的。
