评分在外求學，而後定居，走得越遠和父母之間的觀念隔閡也逐漸加大，雖然和作者不是在同一種文化下，感受確是一緻的。
评分Generalizing then big picture by using a case study, Rodriguez had a limited horizon. I love his resistance on bilingual education & it got me thinking about myself. But I don’t like the way he gave up his first language, served English as a tool to gain public identity in the States.
评分正是因為父母作為移民在美國社會的地位低下,作者自然而然地認同differences=inferior,所以纔迫切地想全盤美化,排斥任何ethnic differences,認為父母無法溝通...讀來讀去,隻覺得第一代移民還真是悲哀.
