Perhaps the most important myth debunked is success itself. To achieve anything, architects must serve the powers they strive to critique, finding themselves in a perpetual conflict of interest. Together, architects, developers, politicians, and consultants form an improvised world of contest and compromise that none alone can control.

#Two Hours in London Review Bookshop# It's about what does it mean to be an architect today. 难得有人跳出来写这个！当年Wigley说当下的建筑理论已经被fragmented到实践中，那这本书就可以看作是这种fragment的集合吧；可以直白谈论建筑学对自己的包装，说出我们喜爱一个建筑师是因为他摒弃我们所学，可以讨论盖里的房子是否算contextual，讨论为什么伦敦城市空间失去趣味，罗列日常看到多米诺原型那种神奇的mix feeling...建筑师到底都在想什么？“Nothing is wholly obvious without becoming enigmatic.” 那么建筑的谜是什么？
