很美的一個故事，傷感卻強有力。

隨著情節的暴走，女主後半段也變得不可理喻起來。尼日利亞政變的背景好像也對整個故事沒什麼影響。有些描寫異常剜心

對於一個處女作來講很棒瞭情節性超強猜得到開頭猜不到結尾(其實是能猜到part of the mystery but not the whole story) 居然讓我昨晚直接一口氣讀完瞭並且讀完時我看著身邊熟睡的Ruby 極少有地為一本書淚目（發現很多小說傢的處女作都屬於這種筆風稚拙但故事好令人放不下的類型）沒什麼長篇細膩的描寫很多對話每一句都在把故事往前推但是個人覺得書中作者試圖interweave進去的尼日利亞曆史/社會變更這條綫稍顯多餘(或者是我品味有限並不能appreciate) 總之本書和書裏人物一樣 deeply humane, flawed, and ultimately lovely

nigerian soap opera with forced mentions of political background, ALL the diseases (impotence, false pregnancy, sickle cell) and drama (affair with brother-in-law, second wife murdered), fixation on pregnancy-2 children die-rejects 3rd child-leaves-returns 15yr later to find 3rd child alive. magical goal ritual, victims of nigerian gender roles.
