大概是作者略有些意识流手法的原因，刚开始很难读进去，坚持看到后面越是渐入佳境。与其说是反战文学，更确切说是反美国梦、反对资本幻觉、反对政治操纵、反对消费主义的讽刺小说，就像作者在前言的演讲稿说的一样，一部揭露“the insanity of American life" .从人设而言并不完美，但核心主题非常relatable
