Since cities emerged ten thousand years ago, they have become one of the most impressive artifacts of humanity. But their evolution has been anything but linear—cities have gone through moments of radical change, turning points that redefine their very essence. In this book, a renowned architect and urban planner who studies the intersection of cities and technology argues that we are in such a moment.
The authors explain some of the forces behind urban change and offer new visions of the many possibilities for tomorrow’s city. Pervasive digital systems that layer our cities are transforming urban life. The authors provide a front-row seat to this change. Carlo Ratti and Matthew Claudel carry out research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Senseable City Laboratory, investigating the intersection of technology and the built environment.

文笔清晰且自洽。但原初的立意就很歪，都2020s了怎么还会有人相信单纯的技术进步会给城市带来更好的未来。另外书中有些观点非常刻意，纯粹为了支持主题而生搬硬套，大概找两个社会学研究生就能把作者给喷死吧...

评分蛮薄的很好读。作者是一个技术乐观主义者，特别喜欢很时髦的词，文笔是真的好。一到五章还比较有启发，讲设计观/虚拟现实/智慧城市/数据/人机关系。后面几章感觉比较水。lab做的东西个人觉得有点一言难尽。
