Animal Farm is most famous in the West as a stringing critique of the certain phase of Russian history. In the novella, the overthrow of the human oppressor Mr. Jones by a democratic coalition of animals quickly gives way to the consolidation of power among the pigs. Much like the Soviet intelligentsia, the pigs establish themselves as the ruling class in the new society.
著者簡介
Eric Arthur Blair (25 June 1903 - 21 January 1950) known by his pen name George Orwell, was an English novelist and journalist. His work is marked by clarity, intelligence and wit, awereness of social injustice, opposition to totalitarianism, and commitment to democratic socialism. Considered perhaps the 20th century's best chronicler of English culture, Orwell wrote literary criticism, poetry, fiction and polemical journalism.
