《立场——辩证思维训练：城市研究篇》的编者迈伦•A.莱文是美国莱特里州立大学教授，主要研究地理学与城市问题。毕业于麻省理工学院，主修城邦政治、公共政策与区域合作；硕士研究方向为公共管理与城市问题研究，著有《城市政策：美国大都会的力量》等书，曾获美国全国人文学科捐赠基金及美国国家科学基金会资助在法国、德国等地开展教学和研究工作。
