盡管他自身經曆也是痛苦的，但梵高永不會放棄對周圍人們苦難生活的同情之心。從《負重者》開始，他一直沿用這一方法：把事物的錶象和他對於這個世界的強烈感情聯係在一起。 他的畫作都是在清醒的時候創作的，強烈的感情，以及隨時準備以激烈的方式錶達自己的想法，使他疏離於他所生活的時代，然而他的內心深處其實抱持著對整個世界近乎瘋狂的熱情。

说起梵高，我总是会不由自主的联想到顾城，顾城是将他的精神寄居在帽子里，他不想让他的思想被世俗所污染，他的帽子就是他所独有的空间，接受采访也好，在街头散步也好，去朋友家聚餐也好，他都会带着他那顶普普通通的帽子，他像一位店小二，像一位虔诚的穆斯林，唯独不像个充...

和很多人一样，我以前一直以为凡·高是一个很会画画的疯子。但是看过这本传记后，我才发现自己大错特错。 我觉得称呼他为“人民艺术家”也不为过，你很少见到这样一个纯粹的人，一个高尚的人，一个脱离了低级趣味的人，一个时刻惦记着劳苦大众的人。 这不是调侃，而是凡·高...
