最後一章特彆讓讀者的憤怒。是誰應該go to hell，又是誰應該祈求原諒。書名看似以Maggie為主體，但是幾乎是半本之後maggie纔真正齣現，而且全篇並沒有得到什麼話語權，隻是在不停地觀察，遊走以及被拋棄。Crane在描寫Maggie的母親的時候不停強調她的體型之“大”，是否在暗示monstrosity。Maggie在T恤工廠工作絕不是巧閤，collar和cuffs顯然在暗示更深層的東西。從daisy miller到maggie，社會禁錮女性真是從上至下一點都不馬虎。
