曼罗·里夫（Munro Leaf；1905～1976），生前写过、画过近四十本书，其中最具盛名的，即是与罗伯特·劳森合作的《爱花的牛》。

由曼罗·里夫所执笔的这本书，在美国是第一本被贴上“颠覆”卷标的作品。在西班牙内战期间（二十世纪三十年代），这本书曾经被禁；另外，它也曾遭德国纳粹列为焚书书单之一。

这真是一个很深刻的故事，关于庸众。一头不喜欢打闹的公牛阴差阳错被选入斗牛场，可是它真的不喜欢打闹，不会被激怒，于是免于一死，被送回了农场。而那些好斗的牛，完全不知道打斗的意义，如果获得被选中的荣耀，结局却是被斗牛士刺死……
