Orwell said it clearly in 1940s, but still so true in our times. “It is important to distinguish between the kind of censorship that the English literary intelligentsia voluntarily impose upon themselves, the censorship that can sometimes be enforced by pressure groups. Notoriously, certain topics cannot be discussed because of vested interests.

评分忙裏偷閑看英文小說。大學時候度過中文，現在再看，發現一本齣版於1945的書真的嚇壞人，原來諷刺和影射不僅可以針對過去和當下，還可以是未來。那麼曆史就像在轉圈圈瞭????
评分這樣一本纔104頁的小書，充滿瞭奧威爾對社會機器的不信任和諷刺，他對民主不肯放棄和認輸的希望，寄托在初版封麵上的三個字：a fairy story。不願意被奴隸就隻有努力掙脫無知和盲目，當權者也要保持清醒和警惕，纔有可能走上平等和自由。
