思路很清晰，作为introduction其实还行，对新人挺友好的。但是缺点是过于introduction了，一本700+页的书，各种跳步骤省略是什么鬼。。

真正意义上的introduction，不太喜欢这书风格，介绍的比较简略，看这本书最好搭配着witten那本来看。

我还是最喜欢Polchinski, 因为是初心. 评论说这本有GSW的风格，但GSW最大的优点(振幅计算)恰恰是此书所欠缺的. Becker这书的好处是对Green-Schwartz formalism有详细介绍(Polchinski根本没写),light-cone量子化比Polchinski要详细, 然后成书时间晚, 故而有你们热爱的AdS/CFT. 紧化时空弦论这一块的技术已经和微扰弦很不一样了，我觉得几乎就只是classical supergravity而已, 没有UV量子化的内容(因为不知道啊2333). 有讲mirror symmetry的野心，但不讲拓扑弦的话这就注定是trivial的

前8章写的不错，第9章我以前看过arxiv 9702155，如果没看过估计也够呛第10章，我看的就有点晕了，相关的techinic不熟，后来Katrin Becker的一个学生给我讲了idea, 才知道那段在写什么。

Polchinski's book also have exercises but most of them are a bit difficult. this one is suitable, and it contains exercise with answers. a necessary one.
