具体描述
这本集子中的演讲稿是从顾维钧捐赠给纽约哥伦比亚大学珍本和手稿图书馆的《顾维钧文件》中选出来的。保存在这一文件中的演讲稿有数百篇之多，而顾维钧在其外交官生涯中究竟作过多少演讲，已难以统计了。本书编选了重大历史事件和场合的演讲，同时尽可能兼顾演讲主题和形式的多样性。比如，除正式的演讲外，也选了记者招待会的问答。为了让读者更贴近顾维钧演讲的真实风貌，这本集子将英文演讲原稿与中文译稿一同刊印。
