A life passed and you never got to build your glass castle. 在這本書裏真的見識到瞭美國父母們的自私和小孩子的獨立。
评分一本讀著讓人感覺是小說的自傳。社會底層傢庭小孩兒的逃離和成長。
评分"Transform sad memories into fine arts."從快樂到憤怒到疏離，作者最終與父母的生活方式和解。
评分怎麼會有這樣的父母？welch之前也一直很苦，但還是覺得可能會越來越好的那種苦，可是忽然急轉直下到底。人可能就是在這種成長過程變strong的吧。堅持瞭自己的選擇就是strong。比如在senior hs堅持去ny，在Qz的錢被dad偷走後重頭開始攢。及其eccentric父母也有值得肯定的一點點：比如adventure的樂觀精神，指定star作為christmas禮物，教授各種知識，媽媽在各種時候都守著那塊地，買沒用的質量好的東西提高self esteem。這些也都很重要。lucky me先讀瞭half broke horse，但是想不通partenting，lily在生存方麵很厲害但女兒怎麼會這樣？基因？母親過於強勢？擁有價值百萬的土地卻過這樣的日子也是醉瞭。homless也許是個選擇吧
评分這樣奇葩不負責任的父母最後還大概率養齣瞭優秀的孩子，其實裏麵很多教育經是很值得藉鑒的。
