著者简介

譯者簡介

顧法嚴先生

（一九一七～一九九五）本名世淦，浙江紹興人，中央大學畢業，曾任農復會總務處長，精通英文、梵文、巴利文，為佛教界著名翻譯家。譯有《佛陀的啟示》、《原始佛典選譯》、《禪門三柱》、《射藝中的禪》、《密宗傳統觀音觀想修法》，均交由慧炬出版社發行。在台期間，曾擔任美國佛教會駐臺譯經院副院長，主持英譯《大寶積經》工作。一九七三年定居美國舊金山，一九八八年依妙境長老出家。

被称为英文书里介绍佛教的最好作品。其实主要是介绍小乘的思想。读英文写的关于东方宗教和思想的作品是很痛苦的一件事情，边读边想作者用的西文转写的原文术语在中文里是怎么表达的，结果读完之后，西文转写的术语还是没记住。

我对宗教的感性认识，总是玄乎的，神秘的，不可捉摸的，脱离生活的。。。。看了佛陀的启示，觉得，原来宗教是这么写实，这么贴近生活。什么心灵鸡汤啊，什么心理学辅导了，都弱爆了佛不在远处，佛就应该在心里，越平静越简单越快乐

信一本教法，就要尝试接受其基本的世界观，之后是循其方法论。而又那么多的国人接受的还是鬼神观，而非佛法的世界观，导致迷法，而本书则是对佛法基本的东西娓娓道来，让人收货颇多。感谢本书作者翻译者。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。...

该书文风极简，逻辑清晰，字字句句都富有条理似乎没有一处多余。在我看来，作者著书的目的在于用最简单的文字像世人阐述最精要的佛法，消除世人对佛学的误读。作者生于西方世界，所以在论述佛学时，字里行间在论述问题时都用基督教的逻辑来阐述，这也是有助于提升读者的亲...
