THE book on Pete Doherty. The book’s subtitle is ‘the shambolic libertine’, but Pete Doherty is also a phenom whom the author cracks right open. Seamus Craic doesn’t so much ‘follow the money’ as follow the drugs – he knows the dealers as well as he knows the music and the scene. He also writes brilliantly, which is complemented by a fabulous book design and copious unpublished photographs.
Pete Doherty is a 128 page colour book to mainline on, and the fix comes with such elegance and wit that there is no comedown. Craic jacks up the reader on Pete’s genuine talent just as it teeters on the brink of self-obliteration. It’s a trip.
There are no stories about the courtship of Pete's parents, no interviews with former school friends, no ‘filler’ lifted from record labels press releases or websites, just the real deal.
Pete Doherty is a book you’ll push on your friends with the proviso that they’ll return it. The publisher hopes they won’t as you’ll buy another copy. It’s that good.
