菲利普・罗斯（Philip Roth），1933年出生在美国新泽西州的纽瓦克市，被认为是当代最杰出的美国犹太裔作家之一。罗斯以短篇小说《再见，哥伦布》崛起，在过去的十年间，他已赢得美国多个主要文学奖项，1998年更是凭借《美国田园诗》一举获得美国普利策文学奖，电影《人性污点》即由他2000年出版的同名畅销小说改编，他也是近年来获诺贝尔文学奖呼声颇高的作家之一。
