Jack London was an American novelist, journalist, social-activist and short-story writer whose works deal romantically with elemental struggles for survival. At his peak, he was the highest paid and the most popular of all living writers. Because of early financial difficulties, he was largely self educated past grammar school.

非常喜欢杰克*伦敦的作品，最初是从《热爱生命》开始的，这本《野性的呼唤》同样地有着旺盛的生命力的张力。这本小说以一条狗的智商来叙述故事，很特别，也很动感。石雅芳的译本字句很美，推荐给小学高年级的孩子们读，从小懂得品味经典的力量。
