In David Mamet's latest play, a male college instructor and his female student sit down to discuss her grades and in a terrifyingly short time become the participants in a modern reprise of the Inquisition. Innocuous remarks suddenly turn damning. Socratic dialogue gives way to heated assault. And the relationship between a somewhat fatuous teacher and his seemingly hapless pupil turns into a fiendishly accurate X ray of the meechanisms of power, censorship, and abuse.

David Mamet is a Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and an Academy Award-nominated screenwriter, as well as a director, novelist, poet, and essayist. He has written the screenplays for more than twenty films, includingHeist, Spartan, House of Games, The Spanish Prisoner, The Winslow Boy, Wag the Dog, and the Oscar-nominatedThe Verdict. His more than twenty plays includeOleanna, The Cryptogram, Speed-the-Plow, American Buffalo, Sexual Perversity in Chicago, and the Pulitzer PrizewinningGlengarry Glen Ross. Born in Chicago in 1947, Mamet has taught at the Yale School of Drama, New York University, and Goddard College, and is a founding member of the Atlantic Theater Company."

利用教條化的「政治正確」，和利用權威﹑體制﹑身份，去壓制他人，不是異曲同工嗎？分別只是前者還未站穩陣腳，後者早被視為理所當然。關鍵不是所謂「政治正確」或者教育體制的理念有根本上的錯誤，而是當人們拒絕理解對方，拒絕花力氣去接通大家對這些理念的理解，而是嘗試透過簡化的操弄去獲得壓制對方的權力。Mamet都寫得那麼白了，怎麼還是那麼多人眼中只看到「政治正確的婊子」呢？ (2018.03.09 前進進)

评分OK, Mamet Speak is fast with each role interrupting and cutting off the other, finishing the other's sentences and repeating themselves while..., loaded with jargon (John's pedantic word choices), vulgar (John's line calling Carol a cunt), and focused on semantics (Carol using John's words "do you see" among others to show her grasp of control).

评分Mamet是我的老师非常推崇的一位剧作家，但是我读过oleanna之后并没有感同身受老师的赞美……前半段是教授在长篇大论后半段是学生在长篇大论，但是很明显学生似乎被“group”洗脑了。剧本里经常出现的对话被打断也很不好阅读，仿佛这两个人根本无法相互理解。在主题上非常赞同前一位友邻的评论，政治正确矫枉过正现在并不适用于中国，而且Mamet有抹黑女权主义的嫌疑????
