David Mamet is a Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and an Academy Award-nominated screenwriter, as well as a director, novelist, poet, and essayist. He has written the screenplays for more than twenty films, includingHeist, Spartan, House of Games, The Spanish Prisoner, The Winslow Boy, Wag the Dog, and the Oscar-nominatedThe Verdict. His more than twenty plays includeOleanna, The Cryptogram, Speed-the-Plow, American Buffalo, Sexual Perversity in Chicago, and the Pulitzer PrizewinningGlengarry Glen Ross. Born in Chicago in 1947, Mamet has taught at the Yale School of Drama, New York University, and Goddard College, and is a founding member of the Atlantic Theater Company."

OK, Mamet Speak is fast with each role interrupting and cutting off the other, finishing the other's sentences and repeating themselves while..., loaded with jargon (John's pedantic word choices), vulgar (John's line calling Carol a cunt), and focused on semantics (Carol using John's words "do you see" among others to show her grasp of control).

评分利用教條化的「政治正確」，和利用權威﹑體制﹑身份，去壓制他人，不是異曲同工嗎？分別只是前者還未站穩陣腳，後者早被視為理所當然。關鍵不是所謂「政治正確」或者教育體制的理念有根本上的錯誤，而是當人們拒絕理解對方，拒絕花力氣去接通大家對這些理念的理解，而是嘗試透過簡化的操弄去獲得壓制對方的權力。Mamet都寫得那麼白了，怎麼還是那麼多人眼中只看到「政治正確的婊子」呢？ (2018.03.09 前進進)
评分臨時抱佛腳，讀戲開始前才終於看完。弔詭。也許這個劇本的確可以解釋出無數層意思來。但我看到的就是靠政治正確上綱上綫的「弱勢群體」翻身上位的教學案例。Carol感覺和「Speed the Plow」裡的Karen有異曲同工之處啊。男主都是愚蠢的可憐蟲。作者這個拿語言當槍砲使的風格真是⋯⋯看下來太累了（。
