理查德·J. 埃文斯，英國曆史學傢，以19、20世紀德國史，尤其是第三帝國的研究享譽學界。曾任劍橋大學欽定曆史學講座教授、劍橋大學沃爾夫森學院院長。曾被授予漢堡藝術與科學奬，並憑學術成就獲封爵士。著有《企鵝歐洲史·競逐權力：1815—1914》《曆史與記憶中的第三帝國》等18本著作，其中《死於漢堡》獲沃爾夫森曆史奬。

我看的是Allan Lane的版本，豆瓣不讓添加瞭。總體來說是可以的，但也不是特彆完美。比如Evans說美國選總統是popular vote，其實並不是，當然他的popular應該指大眾，但這種說法還是不夠嚴謹。另外作者在沒有解釋SA就是brownshirts的情況下，在後半部多處使用SA，讓我摸不著頭腦。後文也多次提到Kapp政變，但其實這一提法在之前也沒有交代好，我還特地翻到前麵去看，結果非常簡單，我還得去查資料纔知道來龍去脈。
评分寫的非常詳實，唯一的問題就是太平坦瞭，有時聽著聽著就走神或睡著。
