His first novel, On Love, was published in fifteen countries, and was a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Award for Fiction.

原來談戀愛的時候人會死那麼多腦細胞啊。。劍橋文學係的文字功底果真不是蓋的（好難理解啊有些句式），看起來再簡單不過的詞都被他拓展齣新用法，宗教哲學藝術心理各個也都是信手拈來毫不費力。且希望自己視野開闊一些英語好一些的時候能再細讀一遍，畢竟女主跟自己太像???????????? 也推de botton的essays in love 和 how to think more about sex

评分Wrote every aspect of love life, how the couple interacts and what’s the deeper philosophical meaning of it. Love “who makes the effort” section, like a game evolving to two possible equilibria — marriage or breakup.
评分作為一個寫愛情的作者，alain de botton是非常邏輯縝密的人，他的故事不是單純闡述一個愛情故事，他可以從順敘一個愛情故事當中捕捉其中的普遍理論，這是我在看這本書當中最佩服他的一點。
评分每次看Alain De Botton 都是這樣 前五十頁拍案叫絕 機智幽默 剩下200多頁味如嚼蠟。。。聰慧都不見瞭乏味的想講大道理又沒有足夠深度。。。╮(╯_╰)╭
