评分在小說裏麵看到瞭好多菲茨傑拉德的影子。當然除瞭自傳的成分之外，裏麵有他對自己年老的憂慮；一如既往地對上流階層的批判，迪剋作為一個中産階級的代言人，帶讀者深入瞭解到上流社會的浮誇和裝腔作勢，Dick被利用當做Nicole的監護人，一旦失去瞭使用價值，就被拋棄。Nicole因病被自己傢人拋棄等等， 當然還有在歐洲的美國群體的眾生相。 菲茨傑拉德對對話的使用，使得讀者更容易勾勒各個角色的特徵，當然我至今對書名還沒太理解。
