He gained particular fame for his novel, The Jungle (1906), which dealt with conditions in the U.S. meat packing industry and caused a public uproar that partly contributed to the passage of the Pure Food and Drug Act and the Meat Inspection Act in 1906.[1]

评分看的漫画版。怎么说呢，骗子太可恨了，但我觉得这家人太着急买房子了，啃了一个自己咬不动的骨头。（我是不是有点站着说话不腰疼）为了房子把13岁的小孩都送去工作，唉。无论是dust bowl大迁徙还是移民还是现在疫情，老年人都是最先被牺牲的。不知道是不是漫画的形式，我知道他们很苦，但在困难时候要但知道推迟自己的欲望啊。看到他们的困境真的心痛。
