具體描述
本教材所選的散文包括說明文、限定文、論說文、敘述文、描寫文以及一些關於文章開頭與結尾、文體風格的範文，其內容涉及文學批評、語言學、哲學、教育學、曆史文化、名人軼事及經濟生活等各個須域，具有教學大綱中要求的事實性閱讀（factual readng），評判性閱讀 （critical reading）和鑒賞性閱讀（aesthetic reading）三種特點。每類散文之前都有一篇概要的理論介紹，闡明該類散文的寫作意旨、對象、語言特色和寫作技巧。這些作品大都齣自名傢之手．結構嚴謹，用問考究，構思精巧，具有不同的寫作風格和藝術特色，堪為學習和模仿的範例。
為提供理解課文的必要知識和語言材料（作傢簡介、作品的時代背景、語言難點和重點等）・我們在每課課文後作瞭簡要的注釋。同時，還編有分析性、啓發性、評判性和鑒賞性的練習。它包括：寫作對象和目的、篇章結構、句法分析和詞匯研究四個部分，藉以幫助學生深入分析和全麵理解各篇文章。
