著者简介

Kyo Maclear is an award-winning writer and novelist. Her first book for children, Spork, has received a number of honors, including a 2011 Marilyn Baillie Picture Book Award nomination. She lives in Toronto, Ontario.

Isabelle Arsenault has illustrated several children's books, including Spork, My Letter to the World and Other Poems and Mr. Gaugin's Heart. She has received many awards for her work, including the Governor General's Award for Illustration. She lives in Montreal, Quebec.

在圖書館看到這本書，覺得標題很惡搞，但是又有點好笑，因為Virginia Woolf是女性主義文學的大師啊。很好奇這本書的書評如何，沒想到在Amazon和Google上查詢"Virginia Wolf"都宣告失敗，他們認定我打錯字，硬是跑出來一堆Virginia Woolf的書和網頁。最後只好用作者名稱查，才找到。還算可愛的童書。原來是講一對姊妹的故事，Virginia的有天亂發脾氣，她的姊姊Vanessa的想盡辦法去讓她平靜，因為Virginia提到bloomsberry，Vanessa發揮想像畫了一幅有bloomsberry和Virginia提到的事物的畫，滿足了Virginia。於是第二天Virginia就恢復正常，兩人開心出去玩了。插圖很可愛，故事溫馨，最適合有兩姊妹的家庭。

超級可愛又溫暖，書名也饒有趣味，令人想起Virginia Woolf。據說創作的靈感來源正是伍爾夫與她姐姐之間的感情。（中文書名改成了《我的妹妹是只狼》…Orz）Bloomsberry（布魯姆斯伯里）就像一個永無鄉，又像是《龍貓》裡邊龍貓所生活的那個大樹洞，裡頭存著這個世界最美好的風景，能帶給所有憂傷的孩子這個世界最溫情的撫慰。每當難過的時候，我希望能夠像弗吉尼亞一樣，遇到願意為我創建一個美麗世界的親愛的姐姐。繪畫作者與另外一冊我很喜愛的繪本《簡、狐狸和我》是同一個。
