When, on a single night in his thirteenth year, Ico's horns grew long and curved, he knew his time had come. But why does the Castle of the Mist demnd this offering, andcan the castle keep Ico's destiny from intertwining with that of the girl imprisioned within his walls?

While the creative liberties taken on fleshing out the initially mininalistic world of Ico were both bold and highly entertaining, the dialogue and stylistic approach often felt so cliched-RPG-esque-corny it became painful to read. If I weren't such a Miyabe fanboy I would've handed this book a poor rating in the bat of an eye.
