Sylvia, a recent veterinary school graduate, purchases an old house with five acres of land, and begins remodeling. The ghost of an old Slave appears to Sylvia, and a beautiful friendship develops, as she hears the heart-warming stories of his family, and stories of his life as a slave. Sylvia takes on the mission of helping the old man find the freedom to join his wife in "glory". She has no idea what surprises she will uncover, as her endeavor unfolds to take her through more than thirty years of her life
