《當代世界經濟(英文版)》體係安排上以經濟全球化為貫穿全書的主綫，重點突齣經濟全球化的特點、發展脈絡；對區域經濟、國民經濟和企業的影響，主要包括：當代世界經濟與發展曆程、世界經濟發展的推動力、經濟全球化時代、區域經濟一體化、貿易自由化——經濟全球化的先驅、金融全球化、經濟可持續增長的挑戰、國際閤作與協調、經濟全球化中的世界各國經濟和中國經濟改革及其與世界經濟的融閤。教材內容緊跟當前世界經濟發展的最新事件，采用最新的統計數據。

為瞭達到培養國際化復閤型人纔的目的，本教材有中英文對照兩個版本，其中，英文版本將是我國首部用英語編寫的國內體係的世界經濟教材。使用英語教學可以使學生大大提高應用英語學習經濟課程的能力，為今後從事國際經濟事務做準備。為瞭方便學生的學習，英文版本課文中對較難的詞、句進行瞭中文注釋，並在每章後麵附有中文的本章小結，同時還有一本中文對照翻譯版本。

本教材適用於經濟類專業研究生、本科生的學習，並經過8輪課堂試講，受到學生的好評。

白遠，女，北京第二外國語學院國際經濟貿易學院副院長，教授，碩士研究生導師，國際服務貿易學術帶頭人，北京第二外國語學院發展改革委員會委員，中國國際經濟閤作學會理事暨學術委員會委員，中國民主建國會北京市經濟專委會委員，朝陽區人大代錶，世界銀行農村改水項目國傢項目辦特聘專傢(1996—2000)。2004年赴美國北佛羅裏達大學講授國際貿易。2001—2007年間受美國西北大學在清華辦學項目聘請講授國際貿易與對外直接投資。

先後就讀於北京第二外國語學院、日本國際大學、美國紐約大學商學院。主要研究方嚮為世界經濟、國際(服務)貿易、企業對外直接投資、文化創意産業及産品貿易，是我國較早從事中國企業對外投資和文化創意産業與貿易研究的學者之一。近5年來發錶論文40餘篇，多篇在核心期刊上發錶並被轉載，承擔北京市科研項目5項。在教學方麵主要從事雙語教學改革，有兩項北京市精品教材立項項目、一部北京市精品教材、一部國傢“十一五”規劃教材。
