This volume contains 150 papers presented during ISEC-03, the 3rd International Conference on Structural and Construction Engineering, held in Tokuyama College of Technology, Shunan, Japan, from September 20th to 23rd, 2005. The theme of the conference was Collaboration and Harmonization in Creative Systems. This volume contains selected papers within the following areas: creative structural and construction systems and materials; system integration and management; and innovative systems of collaboration with the environment and the sustainability. ISEC-03 focused on developing the innovation of creative systems, with particular emphasis on collaboration and system integration. The harmonization of these innovative systems with environmental factors is important in addressing global issues in sustainable engineering. The role of information technology brings greater opportunities for innovation and renewal of engineering systems. The conference aimed to promote the collaboration of information technologies in all facets of structural, system, and construction engineering with a view to achieving environmentally-sensitive solutions.
