British-Israeli photographer Yishay Garbasz's mother was born in Berlin, escaped from the Nazis to Holland, was deported to Westerbork, then to Theresienstadt. Via Auschwitz-Birkenau, she arrived in Christianstadt, then marched to Bergen-Belsen, where she was liberated by British forces.
