Kentuckian gunfighter Jack Stone rides into Horseshoe Bend anticipating a peaceful Christmas with his old Army padre. But he finds that Leroy Cheney, and the notorious Inglis gang, have been terrorizing the town's citizens from whom they are extracting tribute. The marshal is helpless - law and order have broken down. Suddenly an itinerant Texas cowboy arrives and provokes a confrontation. And as Jack sides with him, Leroy Cheney discovers they don't come any tougher or deadlier than Stone.
