迈克尔·克莱顿的最后一部作品，做为小说很一般，人物毫无生气，情节老套混乱，科幻的点子也是N年前的了。不过小说中对Micro世界的描写相当出色（什么是Micro世界？这个就不剧透了），如果单就这个描写给4、5星不成问题，但整个小说也就3.5星吧。

横有Crichton自己写的纳米猎杀，纵有神秘岛和无数同类型作品，读完还有种感觉像是缩小版的侏罗纪公园，Crichton 最为人津津乐道的原创性不复存在，当时若不是被作者遗作的噱头吸引光看简介是不会提起兴致的，好在出版社透露还有若干未完成的作品有待发行，不然以这样一部作品收尾还真叫人惋惜啊。
