The Roulette family, seemingly, found the source of tranquility in a realistic setting. Their mansion was large, and as typical of the times, it was constructed with limestone. However, forms of unforeseen occurrences disrupt the peace in ways that will shock all senses. John and Melissa loved each other since school, a love that brings them together as one entity. Although, her close friends are important in her life, she is forced to escape with a slave wagon train. This suffering was increased by being pregnant from being raped. This fear was added by the relentless chase of bounty hunters and marshals, but the deep love they have for each other brings them together in a unexpecting way as they hold each other close from another country.
